Head Instructor Scott Kendricks

Scott has been a farrier, avid rider, and horse trainer for 40 years.  During his time as a pilot in the US Marines, Scott found a daily treatment for his high-stress career in his horses.  Years before "Equine Therapy" was known as an effective treatment for stress, Scott was able to decompress every evening with his horses.  From one Duty Station to another, Scott brought his horses along, rarely missing a day of riding.

Over the past 4 decades, Scott has completed Hunter-Jumper competitions and fox-hunting events in the Carolinas, Polo in California, and roping in Texas.  To become a complete horseman, Scott became a certified farrier, learning to forge horseshoes in a forge and operating a horseshoeing business for several years.

In other outdoor pursuits, Scott became a state championship track and field coach and went on to coach in the NCAA Championships at the college level and the Olympics at the International level.  Scott and his son, Sam, have worked together for 18 years with Sam winning the World Championship in the pole vault event in 2017 and 2019.

Scott still trains his horses and rides daily with his wife, Marni, at his family's home just outside of Oxford, MS.All four of Scott's children grew up riding and doing daily chores - engaging in "equine therapy" long before the treatment was recognized.
